Communities in Transition Overview

New York State is a place where futures can be re-imagined. Here in New York, people with developmental disabilities have the opportunity to choose the life they want outside of an institutional setting. People can choose to live in a smaller group home, an apartment or even a home with a backyard. With this freedom to choose comes the opportunity to work, learn and contribute to their communities.  View our series of videos to learn more about how OPWDD supports and services help the people we support live life to the fullest. Learn more about housing and moving to a home in the community.
