Leah Shapiro

One of Leah Shapiro’s passions in life is her artwork and, thanks to her self-directed services, she now works at a preschool as an art teacher where she teaches art projects to two-, three- and four-year-olds in various classrooms.

In addition to selecting appropriate projects, Leah is responsible for ordering the supplies needed and keeping within a budget.  Leah typically tries to vary the materials used, giving the children exposure to different mediums and ample room for creativity.

Leah was very proud when she was asked to display her art at the Individual Supports and Services (ISS) agency annual picnic attended by more than 2,000 people this past summer. Leah also volunteers for the Friendship Circle, running a monthly art class for adults of all abilities.

And that is what makes Leah One of a Kind.
