Lauren Bianco

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. In Lauren Bianco’s case, the photos she takes not only tell a story about her subjects, they also give us great insight into this talented woman. Lauren, age 34, has been taking wildlife photos around the Moriches area on Long Island for about six years, capturing the elusive snowy owl, playful harbor seals, frolicking fox and deer, the majestic eagle and most recently, the fastest bird on earth – the perigone falcon.

Lauren has received many awards and honors for her work but one, the Canon Rebel With A Cause, speaks not only to her skill behind the lens, but also for the charitable work she does in raising funds for Angela’s House, a nonprofit that addresses the needs of medically frail children and their families. She was named runner-up in this national competition and not only earned a donation for that organization, but is featured on YouTube.

When Lauren is not taking photos, she researches her subjects and studies various technical aspects of photography. She participates in the annual Miss Exceptional competition and this year is preparing to enter the Miss Amazing competition, as well.  She has a Facebook site, Lauren’s Wildlife and Nature Photography, where she exhibits her work. Currently Lauren is learning how to sell prints of her work. She enjoys working with animals, especially birds of prey, and would one day like to work for an organization that teaches children about wildlife.

And that is what makes Lauren One of a Kind.
