Evan Wagner was named one of the Capital Region DDSOO’s 2024 DSPs of the Year because he comes to work every day with a great attitude and gets the job done with grace.
According to Nichol Honsaker, a Registered Nurse who works closely with Evan, he has a great attitude and takes pride in his work not only helping his coworkers, but being a help with parents, too.
“He is just so great with the people he supports,” says Honsaker. “Evan always has a smile on his face and gives 100 percent when he comes to work.”
She said Evan helps promote independence and supports people daily.
“He is very kind and a great advocate and makes sure their needs are met. He enjoys taking them out and they always talk about what a good time they had when they return,” she said.
Evan attends life plan meetings and personally handles reordering medications. This is something Evan does faithfully every week to ensure medications are fully stocked, Honsaker adds.
“He works well with parents, too,” she says. “If a parent calls and has a special request, Evan completes the task without question. He is upbeat and certainly adds a good vibe to the home. He brings a considerate and thoughtful approach to his job every day and is deserving of this recognition.”
