Ferdinand DeOcampo was named one of the Long Island DDSOO’s 2024 DSPs of the Year because he is not only a team player, but because he has excellent problem-solving skills and is an effective communicator.
According to Marcia Bell, Developmental Assistant II, Ferdinand is reliable and goes above and beyond in the work that he does.
“He is very dedicated to his job,” Bell says. “He has a thorough knowledge of his job and shows leadership qualities and a willingness to try new ideas. He is always willing to fill in when necessary and assist his supervisor and coworkers. Ferdinand demonstrates respect.”
Bell says that Ferdinand supports the people in his care during both good and bad times and does so in a professional manner.
“He is very compassionate,” she adds. “And uses his skills to help them keep safe, engaged and happy.
“He is a fantastic employee,” Bell says. “He is dedicated and hardworking. He always executes his work assignments effectively and efficiently. For these reasons I believe Ferdinand should be DSP of the Year.”
