Elizabeth A. Connelly Memorial Conference

From 2007–2011 and in April 2013, IBR organized and hosted the annual Elizabeth A. Connelly Memorial Conference.  Sponsored by OPWDD, the conference is a tribute to NYS Assemblywoman Connelly from Staten Island, whose work helped close the Willowbrook State School and develop community-based services for New York’s citizens with developmental disabilities. Connelly was a tireless champion for the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities. She served for 18 years and passed away in 2006.
