Scientists in the Department of Developmental Biochemistry are exploring the biochemical aspects of normal and abnormal central nervous system development in relation to neurogenetic disorders of infancy and childhood. Major areas of research include autism and a group of neurogenetic disorders collectively known as the neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (Batten disease).
