The below message has been shared by the NYS Department of Health regarding the delay of Community First Choice Option

The enacted 2019-20 New York State Budget includes a delay in the implementation of the following Community First Choice Option services from July 1, 2019 to January 1, 2020:

  1. Skill Acquisition, Maintenance, and Enhancement/Community Habilitation
  2. Assistive Technology
  3. Home Delivered Meals
  4. Environmental Modification
  5. Vehicle Modification
  6. Moving Assistance
  7. Community Transitional Services

Please note that waiver enrollees will continue to access the above services as available through the current waiver programs.

We look forward to continuing the implementation tasks ahead of us and partnering with you to ensure a smooth launch of these services within the broader Medicaid program in January.

Thank you.
