Forthcoming Adaptive Clothing Grant Program Will Support Designers, Entrepreneurs and Researchers Developing Fashionable, Functional and Inclusive, Clothing Designed Around the Needs of People With Disabilities

Governor Kathy Hochul today led a group of 18 governors who sent a letter to Attorney General Todd Blanche calling on him to continue the federal government’s longstanding support for community-based care and the rights of people with disabilities to live with dignity in their own communities. The letter is in response to recent actions by the Trump Administration that seek to undermine integration protections under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the completion of Matinecock Court, a nearly $98 million affordable housing development in the town of Huntington, Suffolk County. The newly constructed development creates 145 affordable limited-equity cooperative homes, including eight supportive apartments reserved for people with disabilities and four apartments reserved for veterans.
