NON-ESSENTIAL STATE EMPLOYEES IN CAPITAL REGION DIRECTED TO STAY HOME MONDAY, DECEMBER 2

Due to anticipated weather conditions associated with the extreme winter storm that is bringing heavy snowfall and high winds throughout New York tonight into tomorrow, all non-essential New York State employees do not have to report to work on Monday, December 2, 2019 and do not need to charge accruals for such absence in the following counties: Albany, Schenectady, Columbia, Greene, Fulton, Montgomery, Washington, Rensselaer, Ulster, Schoharie and Saratoga.

 Essential employees should report to work as directed by management.  Essential employees include the following:

• Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Associate Commissioners and Associate Deputy Commissioners;

• Fiscal Services staff, including the Director of Fiscal Administration; all regionally-based Assistant Directors of Fiscal Administration; local Business Office staff, including all Business Officers, all Assistant Business Officers, all Head Account Clerks, and all staff responsible for purchasing activities; and all staff performing purchasing functions in Central Business Administration in positions allocated to SG-18 and higher;

• Workforce & Talent Management Division Regional Directors, Associate Directors of Human Resources Management (ADHRMs) and Human Resources Specialists 2;

• Service Delivery staff including all directors and deputy directors in both SOO and RO offices, all TTLs, all DDPS 4 and all DDPS 2, all direct support staff (DSA and DDSCTA) and direct support supervisory staff, all nursing and medical staff, all State operations clinical and all-day program staff;

• Maintenance, Safety & Security, Fire Safety, Capital Services, Emergency Management, Food Service Workers, Housekeeping staff, Cooks and Cleaning Staff;

• DQI management including Regional and Area Directors and compliance officers;

If you are unsure whether you are considered essential staff, please contact your supervisor or local HR office if they cannot be reached.  The Division of Workforce and Talent Management (WTM) will issue an advisement on TIMES/LATS entry for this event within the next 5 business days.
