Webinar for OPWDD MHL New Web-Based Form Submission Process – 12/2013

12/03/13

*Registration for OPWDD MHL Training Webinar on New Web-Based Form Submission Process

As you know, Mental Hygiene Law requires OPWDD to facilitate checks of prospective employee and volunteer abuse history prior to June 30, 2013.  It is required that individuals supply information about their employment and volunteer history for the prior seven years and employment/volunteer history at any time for positions where the applicant provided services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

To expedite this process, OPWDD is initiating a change to the procedure for submitting MHL 16.34 abuse history check requests.  Effective  December 11, 2013, agencies will be required to submit forms through a web-based interface instead of the current process, which relies on a paper-based approach and emailing electronically scanned forms.

The Webinar sessions will explain the process for using the web-based forms and where to locate them.  Two sessions of this Webinar have been scheduled:

  • December 9, 2013 – 1 pm to 3 pm
  • December 10, 2013 – 10 am to 12 noon

PLEASE NOTE:

THIS WEBINAR WILL ONLY ALLOW 500 PARTICIPANTS PER SESSION EVEN THOUGH MORE THAN 500 PARTICIPANTS CAN REGISTER.  ONLY THE FIRST 500 THAT LOG ON WILL BE CONNECTED.  WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO LOG ON EARLY AND POSSIBLY SHARE SITES WITH OTHER AGENCIES TO ENSURE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO BE CONNECTED.  IF YOU HAVE REGISTERED AND ARE UNABLE TO CONNECT THE DAY OF THE SESSION, PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE SECOND SESSION.  WE APPLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE.
