LYNDON’S FAVORITE OR MOST REWARDING PART ABOUT BEING A DSP:

Lyndon says his favorite part about being a DSP is enriching the lives of the people he works with.

“This could be helping in their classes or helping them get through a tough situation; it could be taking them hiking, fishing or swimming. Seeing the individuals that I'm here to serve being happy and feeling accomplished brings me so much joy. I feel blessed that I'm able to have a career in this field,” he says.

ABOUT LYNDON:

Carol Spoor, Developmental Assistant 3, says Lyndon received multiple nominations from different people that emphasized the quality of his work in providing care to the people he supports at Sunmount.

“He has proven to be a good role model for both the individuals we serve and his coworkers,” Spoor says. “Lyndon is supportive by assisting and encouraging people to become more independent, to make good decisions and live a richer and fuller life.”

Lyndon is always up for a challenge. He recently became a PROMOTE instructor. He is Dock and Shore certified, as well as a boat captain. With the Dock and Shore certification, Lyndon has assisted and encouraged individuals to go fishing, hiking and on picnics, which provides them with enriching experiences.

“Lyndon has been an asset to our team. He is always supportive to the individuals assisting them with becoming more independent. Lyndon has gone above and beyond,” adds Spoor.
