YOLANDA’S FAVORITE OR MOST REWARDING PART ABOUT BEING A DSP:

Yolanda says she enjoys teaching the individuals she works with to be more independent. “I want them to be active members of, and to be included in, all community activities.  I enjoy teaching the individuals how to travel safely and make appropriate purchases.”

ABOUT YOLANDA:

Marjorie Robinson, Developmental Aide, who works with Yolanda says, “Ms. Kehoe pays close attention to each individual's likes and dislikes. She assists each person in making good choices.”

Robinson says Yolanda takes great pride in her job, often times working very closely with a specific individual in her care.  Even though this person exhibits challenging behaviors, Robinson says Yolanda is very patient with her and involves her in daily community events.

“She takes the time to listen to individuals, knows what their concerns are, and creates a safe environment. She involves them in the community and takes them on special trips. She helps the individuals live happy, richer lives,” adds Robinson.

Jeanine Crawford, Treatment Team Leader, says Yolanda has done an excellent job of helping individuals recognize their potential as community members and citizens.

“She supports them by providing a listening ear, advocacy and training in skills that will improve their day-to-day lives,” Crawford says. “Yolanda’s contribution to the people we support is deserving of acknowledgement, and is an example of service delivery at its FINEST!”
