ABOUT RANDY:

Carol Spoor, Developmental Assistant III, says Randy goes above and beyond in all areas of his job.

“Randy’s job and responsibilities include ensuring safety to all people in his care on the night shift, assisting with laundry, bed checks, cooking a well-balanced, nutritional meal and providing support, when needed,” she says.

“He provides support and guidance to all the people who reside on his unit, acting as a role model. He always takes the extra step to ensure things are done with the highest regard,” Spoor adds.

“Randy’s kind heart and caring nature result in the best care for the people we serve,” She says.

Spoor adds that Randy is an asset to the team and has exemplary culinary skills, providing a delicious, well-balanced and nutritious meals — especially his soup!

“When I first came to the house, no one made homemade food – even soup was from a can,” she explains. “So, I told the staff in all my homes that they had to make homemade soup. For a while, everyone tried to get out of it, but Randy was the first on board with this. He began making these delicious soups. After a bit, it became a contest between staff as to who made the best soups.”

“He continues to make homemade everything. Randy doesn’t try to save himself time, but takes the extra time to provide a well-balanced and great-tasting dish. The end result is that meals are healthier and taste a whole lot better.”
