Attached is the RFQ for the upcoming Asbestos Abatement Project for Building 8 contract for Capital District DDSOO. OPWDD is soliciting bids from responsible and qualified MWBE, SDVOB, or NYS Small Business contractors to provide Asbestos Abatement services for OPWDD. References and applicable insurances are required. Capital District DDSOO intends to award the contract to the most responsible and responsive bidder that provides the lowest cost. Prevailing wage will apply. If you are interested, please submit 1 original copy of the RFQ Cost Proposal Page(s) along with 1 original copy of all the mandatory supporting documents. Quote Submissions are due by September 18, 2025, no exceptions.
A Mandatory Site Visit has been scheduled for 1:00PM on September 04, 2025, any interested contractor MUST attend the Mandatory Site Visit in order to submit a quote. Pre-registration or advanced confirmation is not required. Please plan to meet at the Building 1 Security Desk, located at 500 Balltown Road, Schenectady, NY 12304 at the scheduled date and time. The Contract and its subcontractors must be registered with the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) and submit their Certificate of Contractor Registration at the time of the bid submission for any Article 8 Project.
Pursuant to its discretionary authority under Article 15-A and 17-B of the New York State Executive Law and State Finance Law section 160(8) – Empire State Development Corporation Certified Minority or Woman Owned Business (MWBE), New York State Office of General Services Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SVDOB), or New Yok State Small Businesses only. Please provide a copy of your firm’s certification documents when submitting a quote.
State Finance Law 160 (8), defines the terms “small business concern” or “small business“ as a business which is resident in New York State, is independently owned and operated, is not dominate in its field, and employs one hundred (100) or less persons.
