Through a wide variety of services and supports, New Yorkers who have developmental disabilities are able to live in and fully participate in their communities.  

Networking and collaboration among providers is paramount in planning and delivering services. OPWDD leadership meet regularly with representatives from Provider Associations across the state to generate ideas and provide guidance on many topics with the goal of further advancing supports for people with developmental disabilities, including; putting people first, maximizing opportunities, promoting and rewarding excellence, providing equity of access, nurturing partnerships and collaborations and requiring accountability and responsibility.
